Bourbon Strong benefits Trent DiGiuro Foundation

Elizabethtown, Kentucky-based nonprofit Give 270 made a $60,000 donation to the Oldham County-based Trent DiGiuro Foundation Wednesday night through proceeds from the nonprofit’s latest Bourbon Strong raffle.

The Trent DiGiuro Foundation annually awards scholarships to graduating student-athletes at Oldham County High School, South Oldham High School and North Oldham High School, along with a scholarship for a UK walk-on football player.

The foundation’s namesake was a University of Kentucky walk-on offensive lineman and South Oldham High School graduate who tragically died just three days before his 21st birthday on July 17, 1994. Wednesday’s donation will be used to raise funds for various scholarship initiatives in honor and memory of DiGiuro. To learn more about the foundation, visit trentdigiurofoundation.org.

“We are grateful to Give 270 and everyone who participated in this raffle for their efforts in helping us keep Trent’s memory alive through educational opportunities for area students,” said Mike DiGiuro, Trent’s father and CEO of the foundation.

Wednesday’s raffle included eight valuable bourbon prizes, with the top prize being a six-bottle set of Van Winkle bourbon. Give 270 is set to host its next Bourbon Strong raffle on June 28 at 8 p.m. on the organization’s Facebook page and YouTube channel, with proceeds benefiting Saint James Catholic School in Elizabethtown.

“We are thrilled with the outcome of this raffle and deeply grateful to all those who contributed to help us create a great outcome for this incredible foundation,” said Eric Clemens, Board Chair for Give 270.
