  • Our latest Bourbon Strong 50-4-50 raffle offers Booker’s “Second Chance Batch” Single Barrel as grand prize

Our latest Bourbon Strong 50-4-50 raffle offers Booker’s “Second Chance Batch” Single Barrel as grand prize

We at Give 270 have been known to give away some truly rare and sought-after bourbon prizes over the years, but the grand prize for our upcoming Bourbon Strong 50-4-50 raffle might just be the rarest yet. This time around, we’re giving away a bottle of Booker’s Single Barrel, a limited edition, one time release that has an incredible backstory.

“The Second Chance Batch,” a special 2022 release, is the first and only single barrel ever from Jim Beam Distillery’s Booker’s line. It honors DeeAnn Hogan, a Jim Beam plant coordinator who donated her kidney for Master Distiller Fred Noe’s transplant, as well as the University of Kentucky Transplant Center team led by Dr. Malay Shah. Donated by Jim Beam to benefit the center, the barrel came from Floor 4 of Warehouse D and was selected in May 2022 by Noe and Medicinal Whiskey Charity, tanked in August and bottled that October.

The bottle we are giving away is number 134 out of a limited edition of 175. It features a distinctive blue wax seal, comes in a commemorative wooden case, and is personally signed by Fred Noe, the great-grandson of bourbon legend Jim Beam and a leading figure behind brands such as Knob Creek, Basil Hayden, and Booker’s. The Second Chance Batch was never available for retail sale and was bottled exclusively for charitable purposes.

Plus, this sought-after grand prize is one of 50 total prizes that will be given away during the 50-4-50 raffle. The second and third grand prizes include a Little Book 10-bottle Vertical and a Booker’s 10 Year Anniversary bottle. In addition to the grand prizes, some of the other prizes given away during the raffle will include a Booker’s Rye, Booker’s 25th Anniversary bottle, Booker’s 30th Anniversary bottle, Little Book the Infinite: Edition 1 and more. During the raffle, prizes four through 50 will be drawn, and each of those winning tickets will be returned to the drawing tumbler for the drawing of the three grand prizes.

Be sure to purchase your tickets today before they run out, and join us live on our Facebook page or YouTube channel on Wednesday, July 2 at 8 p.m. as we give away some amazing prizes. All proceeds support our friends at United Way of Central Kentucky and their Mini Grants Program, which provides immediate assistance for impactful projects and initiatives in the region, such as Helping Hand of Hope’s Affordable Christmas program, the 21st Century Program at New Highland Elementary School, playground equipment at LaRue County Schools, the Headstart Garden through Breckinridge-Grayson Programs, Inc. and many others.

    See you on the livestream!

Bourbon for Brighter Futures: $3,650 Raised for Elizabethtown Rotary Scholarships

Give 270 proudly presented a $3,650 donation to the Elizabethtown Rotary Club, raised during Round 14 of the Whiskey Wednesdays raffle series. These funds will go directly to the club’s scholarship program, supporting students in the Elizabethtown area as they pursue higher education.

Each year, the Elizabethtown Rotary Club awards scholarships to deserving local students—helping remove financial barriers to college and post-secondary opportunities. By investing in these young leaders, the Rotary Club is living out its mission of “Service Above Self” and strengthening the future of our community.

Thanks to the support of our Whiskey Wednesday participants, this contribution is another great example of how a simple $5 ticket can have a lasting impact. Together, we’re turning bourbon into a force for good—one bottle and one student at a time.

Pouring into the future: Whiskey Wednesday Raises $3,136 for ECTC Foundation

Whiskey Wednesday Round 15 is off to a powerful start, and we’re thrilled to share that April 16th Whiskey Wednesday raised $3,136.30 for the Elizabethtown Community & Technical College (ECTC) Foundation!

Each round of Whiskey Wednesday brings together our generous community for a chance to win top-notch bottles of bourbon—and more importantly, to give back to causes making a real impact right here at home. This week was no exception.

The ECTC Foundation plays a vital role in improving lives across our region by supporting students, faculty, and strategic college initiatives. Through scholarships, program development, and emergency student assistance, the foundation ensures that more people have access to education, training, and the tools they need to succeed.

As their mission states: “Better Lives for a Better Community.” And thanks to our Whiskey Wednesday supporters, over $3,100 will go toward making that mission a reality.

To everyone who bought a ticket, spread the word, or raised a glass in support—thank you. Your generosity continues to show just how powerful a simple $5 ticket (and a good pour of bourbon) can be.

Stay tuned for more – we’re just getting started. Cheers to community, connection, and giving back.
