Forbidden Sour

It's the dog days of summer according to the thermostat. This Forbidden Sour recipe features bright citrus and tart pomegranate flavors grounded by bourbon notes. You have got to try this recipe before the warm notes of fall come into season. The recipe is well suited for a bourbon or rye 100 proof or higher (you pick your favorite).   • 1 parts bourbon
  • 1 part PAMA (pomegranate liqueur)
  • 1/2 part fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/2 part simple syrup
  • Lemon wheel for garnish


  1. In shaker, combine all ingredients with crushed ice and shake vigorously.
  2. Strain into bourbon glass over ice.
  3. Garnish with lemon wheel.
